Golden Double for Lithuania in Riga

Baltic Pool League continued this weekend with the second stage in Riga, Latvia. The newly built Bams Pool House with 12 brand new Dino Sport Pro tables with very tight pockets was the host of this event. For the second time in the events 4 year history the golden double went to Lithuania as Domas Mineikis won mens event and Simona Miliśauskaite matched it in womens and oldboys event.
Mineikis finally reached the top
It was long expected when Mineikis finally makes his mark in Baltic pool as he has been on the verge of it three times already. Namely his first two appearances in final did not end with success, but this time he made sure to finally make it. His opponent in the final was Estonian youngster and 2013 Baltic PPool League Final winner Mark Mägi. In the eventful and mistakes packed final it was Mineikis that pocketed the last 9 ball to make a statement for his bright future in pool by a score 8:6. Mägi narrowly escaped his semi final as he won his fellow countryman Oliver Lepp by a smallest of margin 8:7. Peteris Ermansons (LAT) was the one that had to accept the superiority of Mineikis by a score of 8:6 in his semi final. Overall Mineikis did not loose a match and his win only stated the fact that the youngster has a bright future in pool.
Milisauskaite finally won in Riga
It was Miliśauskaites second overall and second Riga final. Last year she lost to Margaret Fefilova (BLR) and this year it was not any easier as her oponent was of the same status, Anna Prisjaźnuka from Latvia. The nail biting final was dominated by Miliśauskaite as she was always ahead, but Prisjaźnuka managed to level it 6:6 only to scratch on 8 ball and hand over the win by a score 7:6 for Miliśauskaite. Prisjaźnuka won her semi final over Tana Lace 7:5 and Miliśauskaite showed once again her professionality in escaping tight situations as she won Ojarś Blezurs 7:6.
